William L. Krantz, CFA | William L. Krantz assumed his position as Co-Director of the USC/CFALA CFA® Review Program on September 1, 2007. Prior to his retirement in 2005, he was involved in the USC/CFALA CFA® Review Program from 1987 through 2004. He has taught the portfolio management curriculum at all three levels and was a Level III co-coordinator for twelve years. Bill has been an active member of CFA Society Los Angeles since 1970, serving as President in 1985-1986. He was honored with the "Member of the Year" award in 1996 and the "Outstanding Lifetime Contribution" award in 2005.
From 1969 through 2005, Bill worked for four investment advisory firms in downtown Los Angeles as a portfolio manager for individuals, institutions, foundations and endowment funds. His responsibilities included the management of client portfolios along with related client service and marketing activities. The last eleven years of his career were spent with Boston Partners Asset Management, a partnership he helped establish in 1995 after leaving The Boston Company. He holds BS and MBA degrees from the University of Southern California and received the CFA designation in 1976. Back To Top ^^

Zack Ellison, CFA, CAIA | Zack Ellison is the Founder and CEO of Applied Real Intelligence LLC ("A.R.I."), based in Los Angeles, California. A.R.I. is an investment firm that provides debt capital solutions to high growth start-ups backed by venture capital and led by world-class entrepreneurs. Mr. Ellison is responsible for the firm’s management and investment activities, including sourcing, due diligence, structuring and execution, and portfolio management.
Previously, Mr. Ellison was Director, U.S. Fixed Income at Sun Life Investment Management, one of the world’s largest asset managers. At Sun Life, he was responsible for corporate credit trading and contributed to the firm’s credit strategy, investment processes, portfolio construction, and risk management practices.
Prior to joining Sun Life, Mr. Ellison worked in Deutsche Bank’s Global Credit Trading division, where he analyzed and traded crossover-rated corporate bonds, credit default swaps (“CDS”), hybrid securities, and preferred stock.
Preceding Deutsche Bank, and during the global financial crisis, he was an investment banker and leveraged loan analyst focused on the media and telecom sectors at Scotia Capital.
Mr. Ellison began his career in the financial services industry at Thomson Reuters in Corporate Advisory Services, where he served the majority of Fortune 500 energy and utility companies.
Mr. Ellison earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Swarthmore College while majoring in Economics. He holds an MBA with concentrations in Analytic Finance and Economics from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business along with an MS in Risk Management from New York University’s Stern School of Business. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designations. Back To Top ^^
Andrea Mack, CFA | Andrea Mack is a Managing Director and Senior Consultant Relations Executive with primary responsibility for the Western U.S. region. Prior to joining TCW, she was a Portfolio Manager at Western Asset Management Company for a dozen years and an Institutional Client Service Executive both at Western Asset and at Payden & Rygel Investment Counsel before joining Western’s U.S. investment team. Ms. Mack currently serves on the boards of Westmark School, The Toigo Alumni Endowment, and the Riordan Programs at UCLA. In addition, she is on the Host Committee of 2020 Women on Boards, the Los Angeles Chapter. Andrea received her Bachelors Degree in Romance Languages and Literature, cum laude, from Harvard College. Later, she earned an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management, where she focused on Finance and was awarded the Robert Toigo Fellowship. Michael A. Treidl, CFA | Michael A. Treidl is a Director and portfolio manager in the asset allocation management group at Miracle Mile Institutional. He serves on the policy committee that makes investment decisions for client portfolios, such as pension plans, foundations, endowments, Native American Indian tribes, non-profit organizations, schools and unions. Michael is a member of the CFA® Institute and the CFA® Society Los Angeles (CFALA). He is a member of the board of governors for CFALA. He earned an MBA degree with an emphasis in Finance from the Crummer Graduate School of Business and a BS in Physics with a minor in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University. Back To Top ^^
